The Regrets Of Youth

It has been said that people become more conservative as they get older, youthful naivete replaced with experienced scepticism.

Amd perhaps that is also true in relative terms, if Psycho at Free Dominion is correct in his observation that the federal NDP's current director of operations had been a Communist candidate for Parliament in 1984.

One can only imagine the media outcry if a senior Conservative Party operative had once run for office as a fringe neo-Nazi candidate in his university days.

(Or worse, for the Christian Heritage Party; neo-Nazis now have the saving grace in the left's eyes of being stridently anti-Zionist.)
