Lucky Numbers

The answer to the question "If an election were held today, which party would you vote for?" provides for a little vicarious pleasure and daydreaming, much as the question "What would you do if you won the lottery today?"

One might conceivably win the lottery today and be able to quit work and buy a Ferrari, but there's no way for an election to be held today and produce tangible results

But a 19-point lead in an Environics poll is still something to savour during the government's honeymoon period, all the same.

This was the sort of lead the Liberals used to have, at a minimum, between elections, much to our despair.

Enjoy it while it lasts, because it is a mirage.
