I'd Like To Teach The World To Kill, In Perfect Harmony

Damian Penny is too shocked to comment about Gwynne Dyer's latest inanity in the Tehran Times (naturally!)regarding the Islamic insurrection in Paris:

The real problem with all this ranting about the failures of multiculturalism is that the Paris riots are actually a splendid demonstration of the successful integration of immigrants into French culture (which has, after all, a long tradition of insurrection and revolution).

I'm sure the average Frenchman in the street's first thought at the sight of the Muslim rioters in Paris is to swell with pride at the memory of the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre, the storming of the Bastille, the Reign of Terror, the Paris Commune, Vichy, and the student riots of the soixante-huitards.

By Dyer's reasoning, Torontonians should be equally proud of the Jamaican gangsters who are shooting up our city at night, because the Jamaican tradition of gang warfare fights right into our multicultural mosaic and history of domestic violence.

But wait! There's more!

The French have little to be proud of in their immigration policy, but what has been happening there since late October is neither American-style race riots nor a Muslim rebellion. About half the kids burning the cars and the buildings are white, working-class, post-Christian French, and they get along with the black and Muslim kids just fine.

That may be, but they didn't start it, they aren't leading it, and they're just being used to tighten the Islamic grip until they themselves will be turned on and killed.

Doesn't it make your heart just swell with pride, though, to imagine people of all colours, cultures and creeds joining together in perfect harmony to rape and pillage?
